What areas of law do the firms in the network advise on?
Between them the member firms cover corporate and M&A, commercial and contracts, banking and finance, insolvency and restructuring, regulatory and compliance, data protection and privacy, risk assessment, tax, foreign investment, labour and employment, and real estate. Not every firm covers every area: the network puts the client in touch with the firm that handles the matter in the jurisdiction concerned.
Does E-Iure provide the legal advice itself?
No. E-Iure is an association of independent law firms and does not practise law. The advice always comes from a member firm, under its own professional responsibility and its own engagement terms. What the network adds is a trusted counterpart in the country where the matter arises.
How is a cross-border matter handled between firms?
The firm the client already knows stays as the point of contact and brings in the member firm of the jurisdiction needed. Because the firms have met in person twice a year for over twenty years, that introduction is to a known colleague rather than to a name in a directory, and every member firm works to the same standards: confidentiality, mandatory professional indemnity insurance, command of foreign languages and promptness.
